FIMC: Children’s Church Program Sunday Morning Teachers: Ages 6 yrs - 8 yrs Richy Riggs and April Blaylock Ages 3 yrs - 5 yrs Nicole Ricketts and Elizabeth Hill Music : Jeanie Parker Our Children’s Church Program consists of praise & worship, puppet shows, bible lessons, and an arts & craft activity. Students come in to have a worship service with our music leader, Jeanie Parker. There, they learn worship songs that are age appropriate and fun! Jeanie teaches the students sign language for the songs and the students often perform for the church. The children really love our worship time and signing the songs. After worship, the students get to enjoy a puppet skit given by several of our church’s youth. The skit is based on the topic of the lesson for that day and provides a great way to introduce the topic. Puppet time is a favorite for many of our children. After puppets, students are split up into two age groups: 3 yrs -5 yrs and 6 yrs -9 yrs. In both classes students learn about a bible story through the teachings from our literature titled: Noah’s Park Children’s Church. This is a bible based program with many features that are very engaging. The students are introduced to the lesson with a fun activity and then listen to a story concerning the bible lesson. Students are asked questions and enjoy participating in the lessons. After the bible lesson, students work on a craft or other type of art activity to reinforce the day’s lesson. Students are encouraged to take these activities home and talk about the lesson with their household. Our children’s church program is a lot of fun with several activities that occur outside of church as well. Some of the activities include: pizza parties, big fun day’s with inflatable games and food, Easter egg hunts, and many other activities. Our children’s church program is packed full of great opportunities for children to get involved, have fun, and learn about God. It is our heart felt prayers at FIMC Children's Church to have a small part in the biblical principle found in Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. |
