At FIMC our youth programs are very important to us. We believe that our youth are not only the building blocks for the future of our church but also the future of the Christian Movement in our world! |
We try to offer a fun yet learning atmosphere with our Youth Programs. Below is a list of some of the things we offer our youth to be involved in : |
1) "Soul Fire " - A Student Only Drama Team that does an amazing job ministering to their audiences through original skits that they create based on their own life experiences, test and trials both past and present. They also perform original songs written by the members of the drama team. More information about the Soul Fire Drama Team is available on the Soul Fire Page. |
2) Wednesday Night Services : Wednesday Night Worship consists of a praise and worship team of adult musicians and singers who inspire and encourage the youth before each service through traditional hymns and new music of the Contemporary style. Then the word of God is delivered to them through scriptures and inspirational videos in a way that the kids can relate to on their own level. |
3) The "Trek Class" - An Awana based program for 7th & 8th Graders during our 6:00pm Sunday evening service. More information on this is available on the Awana Page here on our website. |
4) The Awana Program - for children ages 12 years old and under. More information is also available for this program on the Awana Page. |
5) "Afterglow" - This is an event that happens after Sunday Evening Services once a month. We have many different activities at these events which are designed around fellowshiping with Christian Brothers and Sisters in our Youth Program. |
6) Other Events - We try to offer other events besides the Afterglow at least once per month such as scavenger hunts, lock-ins, cookouts and more. |
7) Senior & Junior Youth "Big Day" - We have an individual day once a year for the Senior Youth and Junior Youth seperately. On these days we rent amusement park style "blow up" games such as a sky slide and moon walk as well as having hotdogs and hamburgers, pizza and ice cream. We do our best to make it a "Big Day" just for them! |
8) Youth Camp - Once a year, normally in July, we have Youth Camp in Mississippi at a camp ground there. We spend five days, Monday through Friday, at the camp. During the camp we have scheduled events such as swimming, softball, basketball, volleyball, canoes and paddle boats and much, much more. Guest evangelists supply God's word and scripture based encouragement in daily services. We believe that if you send a child to camp you will change their life forever! It is an awesome and life changing experience for youth and adults alike! |

9) We are currently building a new "Youth Center" for our youth. This center will give the youth a place they can call their own! We will have video games, a pool table, ping pong and more! We are not offering only fun & games but rather a place for our youth to unwind after a hard day in this tough world we live in. The plan is for the youth to have their own praise and worship service with their style of music and then Brother Hal will be pumped in through a live video feed during the Sunday Am and Pm Services. The Youth will also continue to have services on Wednesday nights. We are so excited about this project! |
10) Teen Retreat - The Teen Retreat is held once a year. Usually at a state park or other facility away from our home church. These retreats are held on the weekend and offer our youth the opportunity to refresh themselves through Christain fellowship, praise and worship, and scriptural studies and services. Testimonies from our youth before our church congregation after these retreats has been proof positive that they are making a huge impact on our youth. |
Brother Hal and the staff at FIMC offer an open invitation to you and your children to come and visit with us and become a part of our church family! |
